We install and configure the software on your machine. From there it is automated and keeps track of the date, time and type of the next backup. It "hides" on the System Tray without interfering with any other program.
At the predetermined time it "wakes up" and finds which files need backing up, and what kind of backup (out of three possibilities) is scheduled for that session. It then compresses those files into archives that can in many cases be only 5% to 15% of the original file sizes.
These archives are then encrypted using your personal encryption key. SecuredBackup then activates your Internet connection. It contacts our DataStore and sends your backup.
The backup is verified for integrity before sending and whilst being sent, then finally after it reaches our DataStore. This ensures that the copy of the backup that we have exactly matches your copy.
After the backup is sent and verified, your machine returns to Idling state. You can of course alter the "predetermined times" or do Ad Hoc backups whenever you wish.
